There are so many advantages of using a digital camera.  Do you remember the days, not so long ago, when you had celluloid film in your camera, desperately trying to keep the light out when you changed your roll of film?  The fiddly job of fitting the film onto the sprockets in the camera and winding it on and invariably the film would slip.  After you’d taken your photographs you then took or sent your exposed film to a company for development and then had to wait a week or two to get your pictures, all the time hoping that the film had not been lost.

Then, the excitement of opening the envelope containing your precious works of art; all those treasured moments caught on film for ever.  Oh, no!  So many of your prints are too dark, out of focus and everyone has red eye.  You might end up with half a dozen photos that accurately captured that treasured moment you wanted to remember forever.  Digital photography has changed everything and it is easy to see that there is a huge advantage in using a digital camera.

Immediate Results.  The most obvious advantage given to us by the digital camera is immediacy.  We can take and produce photographs immediately, downloading and printing them at home.  We can take as many pictures as we like and can review them immediately in the view screen and discard those we don’t want.  This gives us great control over our photography.

2.    Ease of Use and Convenience.  Modern digital cameras can be as complex or as simple as you need them to be, depending on your skills and requirements.  They are convenient for both the professional and the beginner photographer.  Cameras are small enough to be carried everywhere and still capable of producing excellent photographs.  We also have great control over what we do by being able to take as many photos as we like and review them on the spot until we achieve the desired result.

3.    Review and Edit.   Photographs taken with a digital camera are stored in digital files and can therefore be downloaded to a computer to be edited and printed.  It is possible to achieve professional results by using the appropriate photo editing software.  You are only limited by your imagination and creativity.

4.    Share with Family and Friends.  Once you have downloaded your photographs, you can share them with family and friends immediately, no matter where they are in the world.  Alternatively, you can print and frame your prints and give them as gifts.  Digital cameras allow you to share memories quickly and easily.
